Mother Teresa Scholarship: The ‘Mother Teresa Scholarship (MTS)’ scheme, launched by the Minority Welfare Department of the Government of Kerala, aims to support students from minority communities in higher education.
Through this scheme, a sum of money is provided every year to students from minority religious communities residing in Kerala who are pursuing a diploma in nursing and paramedical courses from government-aided and government-recognized private institutions. The Department of Minority Welfare, Kerala, implements this scheme.
Eligibility Criteria for Mother Teresa Scholarship:
- The applicant must be a resident of Kerala.
- The applicant must belong to the Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi, or Jain community.
- The applicant must have secured a seat in a nursing or paramedical course on a merit basis (including merit quotas in government-aided and self-financing colleges).
- The applicant must obtain 45% or more marks in the qualifying examination.
- If the applicant falls under the Above Poverty Line (APL) category, his/her annual family income from all sources should be less than Rs. 28,00,000/-.
- For students from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, there is no income criterion.
Application process for the Mother Teresa Scholarship:
- Visit the official website edistrict.hp.gov.in/pages/services/designForm/InfoPages/Mother_Teresa_Ashaya_Matri_Sambhal_Yojana.xhtml of the Department of Minority Welfare.
- Find and click on Scholarships.
- Go to the Scholarships menu link and click on the “Mother Teresa Scholarship (MTS)”.
- Click on Apply Online.
- For new scholarship applicants, first complete the one-time registration and log in with your candidate details.
- In the registration form, carefully enter the details step by step under the Exam Details (Register Number/Roll Number), Personal Details, and Scholarship Details tabs.
- In the Upload Details tab, upload the required documents (photo, signature, SSLC certificate, income certificate, ration card copy, and allotment memo) in JPEG format at 100 KB.
- Only after uploading all the required documents will the registration process be considered complete.
- After submitting the application form, use the “View/Print Application” link to print a copy of the application.
Required documents for the Mother Teresa Scholarship:
- Applicant Registration Form
- Copy of the mark list of SSLC, PLASTA/VHSE, etc.
- Copy of the allotment memorandum
- First page of bank passbook (in the applicant’s own name, including name, account number, branch code, and branch address)
- Copy of Aadhaar card or NPR card
- Copy of birth certificate
- Copy of community certificate or minority certificate
- Income certificate from village office (original)
- Copy of the ration card.

- Choose the “Mother Teresa Scholarship.”

- Complete the renewal application form entirely.
- Click the “Submit” button.
